THERAPY OPTIONS
Individual Therapy
This form of treatment provides a customized approach to what you are experiencing. The goal is to utilize established theory and best practice in a manner that is personalized to your background and needs. In this context, we can explore: trauma, depressed mood, concern related to substances, anxious mood, body image, self-esteem, desire to have improved connection in relationships, grief, and exploration of career and life path, as well as other areas that may be surfacing for you.
Couples Therapy
Couples counseling can center on working towards a better relationship, identifying whether a relationship is viable, and/or working through the dissolution of a relationship. When I work with couples, I consider the couple as the client. In other words, we work together to identify what the goals are for the work and then move forward as a team.
Group Therapy
This format is one of the best ways to take the work done in individual therapy to the next level. Working with other people who are going through a similar situation as you are can be a powerful way to propel you towards your goals. Groups that I facilitate are both supportive and challenging, in that group members often share similar circumstances and can relate with each other, but they also encourage one another to take risks and be held accountable to their aims. I have seen people achieve in a short-term group what might otherwise take far longer to accomplish in individual therapy. Potential group themes are: Grief and Loss Support, Women’s Empowerment, and Interpersonal Relationships Group.
